Scooter Crash

Today I was walking down Virginia Street, approaching the busy intersection underneath the University of Utah and the tennis courts we sometimes play at.

There was a guy on a scooter coming toward me. He didn’t notice that there was a curb between the road and the sidewalk as he crossed the intersection. He hit the curb and smashed into the ground. He hit his face pretty badly.

He didn’t get up for a few moments, and I stopped to check if he was OK. He was bleeding from his mouth and spitting up blood. His glasses were smashed and his earbuds were knocked out. It took him a few more moments to be able to communicate normally. A woman soon pulled over in her car and offered to take him to the Hospital.

I have never liked the scooters, and I often find myself wishing that the people riding them would biff it. Well, after seeing that happen 20 feet in front of me, I don’t want anyone to crash anymore. Hope he’s doing OK.
